Maximum Wardrobe Utilization: Clothing Hacks

We always face the problem of not having enough clothes to wear even though we have wardrobes filled with clothes. It causes us to buy even more clothes than we ever require. Over consumption of clothing is fueled by the fast fashion industry that wants us to get bored of our clothes easily and buy more. This causes serious environmental consequences that we do not want to see or impose on this world. Therefore, one of the first, at home ways to start combating this problem is through re-wearing our clothes. As this practice might become boring very soon and push us to consume more, here are a few tricks to re-wear a clothing item in a new way.

Layering

This can be practiced with any clothing item. An outfit can entirely change direction when we add a jacket to it. Or, a dress can look absolutely different when we add a t-shirt under it. It is great for toning down prints or even to play them up. For example be it a hawaiian print jumpsuit or hawaiian wrap skirts, you could always layer them with solids to balance out the outfit!

Belting

A great option to amp up an outfit in a new way is by adding a belt. You can change the look of a dress or even its silhouette with a belt. You could break a monochrome pairing with a contrasting belt and change up the look. The options are unending when it comes to belts, so this invites a lot of experimentations and fun!

Mix matching

A lot of times we don’t wear an item with the other because we think it can be too much or they look too dull together. Its time to keep away our worries and mix-match them anyway. A quick round of accessorizing can anyway fix this problem right way, and there you have, a new outfit you never thought you’d wear out!
